Mass Effect - Liara T'Soni

After playing the new Mass Effect Legendary edition, I was inspired to create something new. Intending it to eventually be ported as a mod for XCom 2, I needed something human-like but interesting in design, which led me to recreate Liara's ME2/ME3 armor.

From start to finish, the project took about 4 days total to complete, and involved a lot of new techniques. Liara's armor let me try out cloth sculpting for the first time, as well as lightning a scene for rendering instead of just relying on an HDRI.

Liara's head and the M5 Phalanx were borrowed from the Mass Effect games. I only built the armor for this project.

These were rendered using cycles in Blender and edited slightly in Photoshop.

These renders are from earlier in the project and have a couple of issues that were later corrected. Created in Substance and rendered with IRay.
